Hello! I'm May
I provide online therapy to adults who are looking for a place to work on their personal and professional growth, symptom reduction/elimination, and improve their life experience. I am trained in EMDR and traditional talk therapies. I work from trauma-informed, somatic, and ego states perspectives. In my free time, I love to feed my inner nerd through reading books, listening to podcasts, attending trainings, homesteading, and traveling.
I am an imperfect person who has made mistakes, lived in hardship, experienced trauma and loss in its many forms. Like many of my clients I learned to push through life's ups and downs, was often highly critical of myself, overthinking, and feeling shame or guilt. Through the therapeutic process, I found my way through to a more peaceful and passion-driven life. Now I am privileged to be the guide for others.
Many of my clients come to therapy having accepted things like panic attacks, flashbacks, social anxiety, overthinking, working excessively, or being mistreated by others as “how things are." Hope is hard to have when feel unsafe, overwhelmed, and unable to count on others. It doesn't have to stay this way and you do not have to navigate it all alone. You and your story matters!
Education/Experience
I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and have been working in the social services field for over 20 years in various capacities. Throughout my carrier I have worked with adults, children, and teens with many diagnoses. I have been a support staff, domestic violence advocate, crisis worker, therapist, behavior specialist, care manager, consultant, and clinical supervisor. I am trained in EMDR and am currently pursuing certification.

At Wonderland C&C you are invited to share your journey - no matter how messy it feels - in a safe, nonjudgmental space where together we explore how the past is affecting your present. We use your strengths, interests, and priorities to find your path to a more balanced content life. Whether we are working together in therapy or a coaching capacity, my approach is to get to know my clients and work collaboratively towards the goals you choose. I provide support, guidance through experiential exercises including mindfulness, visualizations, somatization, reprocessing, and skills development mixed with accountability to help you reach your goal.
Having raised three kids as a young mother with limited supports, finances, and life’s deck stacked against me; I understand how precious your resources are. Our busy lives don’t often seem like they allow for the “luxuries” like self-care or personal growth. These though, are the foundation that we stand on. When we prioritize ourselves it allows us to caring for others. I see therapy and coaching as individualized processes, not a one-size fits all experience. Although I am trained in EMDR, I do not require clients to use this model. I work with each client to develop a personalized approach.

One-on-one sessions focused on your individually identified goals. We work together to develop skills, coping strategies, address underlying causes, and align what you know with how you feel.

Eye-movement Desensitization & Reprocessing therapy uses specific eye-movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to decrease your reactivity to negative experiences and beliefs, increasing and storing adaptive information, and preparing you for your desired future.

Coaching sessions are for the mentally well people seeking to break through mental barriers, set and achieve their life goals with support, encouragement, and accountability.
