Why Wonderland?

I have found the greatest achievements aren't those we share on social media but rather the internal battles won against the odds. The victories we share with the world are great for reinforcement and recognition but the internal conflicts driving our emotions and reactions are the ones that created our perceptions and in turn our realities. As I've expanded my therapeutic skills over the years, I have witnessed the use of the psyche as a powerful tool in healing both the mind and the body. The nature of Lewis Carrol's characters, their experiences, curiosities, and at times their peculiar logic remind me of the therapeutic process.

In practice we often use the power of imagination, purpose, and direction paired with unconditional acceptance to explore the deep truths, limits, and boundaries and to overcome any obstacles. The Alice in Wonderland stories are full of the nonsensical experiences that lead Alice - to which I equate to "All Us" - on a journey of self-discovery and awareness using her imagination and experiences that ultimately allow her to be free and to live by her own determinants. Thus, we all live in a world of our own making - "All Us in Wonderland". A world that can be remade again and again through changing our perceptions and holding the belief in our ability to do impossible things.
